Now the word is that Amy Winehouse has been granted a visa by the U.S. Government–but she won’t be making the trip to Los Angeles for Sunday’s Grammy Awards, probably because having to fly halfway around the world 48 hours prior to a big performance won’t exactly make her already-rock-solid stage presence all that much better. Her rep does note, however, that she “will still be performing via satellite broadcast from London as previously announced this morning,” so those trainwreck-expectant execs will still have something to pin their ratings hopes on. I’m pretty sure bad things would happen to her in that crowd in Los Angeles in her condition. On the other hand, with all due respect, Los Angeles has some of the best sober living in the world for people who want that, and the Recording Academy is behind artists who want sobriety 100%.
Big thanks to MusiCares for all they do.
Ah, it’s probably for the best. However, it’s going to be gorgeous and warm here this weekend, and a little sun might be good for her soul.
I hope she recovers, because I do admire her talent. I’ve been listening to “Just Friends” obsessively lately. Oh that song just kills me.
Is it just me….or do all the efforts made on behalf of the RIAA to get Amy to the U.S. suggest that she may be a shoo-in for New Artist, Song, and Album of the Year??
@HONEYBFLY: FTW
oh man i dont think a little sun might be good for her have you seen her!!
