What’s this? An album with a release date that’s actually being pushed up, and not back? Yes, indeed: Snoop Dogg’s Ego Trippin’ has been moved up to a March 11 release date in the U.S., thanks to the success of “Sensual Seduction” and its attendant degraded-VHS video. It was originally slated to come out in May, a good six months after “Sensual” debuted. [Reuters]

Hmmm, it was actually never meant to be a May release: Billboard reported that but we know it’s not the most reliable source.
As for the album itself, if the Reuters report is accurate and there are really 20 tracks, it will be the usual, overlong Snoop album. I guess “Sexual Eruption” got my hopes a little too high as far as the direction of the album is concerned.
Snoop hasn’t dropped a good album since Doggfather. This will have two jams on it, and a bunch of awful, pandering white people rap.
