So the Bamboozle, the annual spring/summer weekend where a bazillion tri-state kids would stand in a Jersey parking lot for a weekend watching Fueled By Ramen bands and bands trying very hard to get called up to the FBR bigs, started out as the world's biggest mall emo festival. (Or "Those Dudes festival", if you prefer.) But then emo kinda ate pop-rock for a minute, making the Bamboozle something awfully close to a general-interest rock festival as it expanded its remit, which now apparently includes third-wave ska giants old enough to be Hayley Williams' lecherous Bostonian uncles.
Yes, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones have been added to this year's Bamboozle, and we are so there. When I said I'd be bringing my two-tone suit (this is true), Maura also asked if I'd be bringing Stacey Dash. But I think it's safe to say that if I had the chance to hang out with Stacey Dash, I wouldn't be wasting my time at a Bosstones reunion show.

P.S. This is the only embeddable version of "Someday I Suppose" on YouTube. I have no idea what's going on here, though some people are quite mad the Bosstones have been sullied with "Disney Channel bullshit."
P.P.S. Apologies to Dave Attell. Who kinda looks like the guy-in-the-Bosstones-who-only-dances, come to think of it.

I missed the Bosstones in Boston in December. All 5 dates sold out far too quickly.
Was there a lot of self-high fiving when you thought of sknks fr th mmrs? I'm dying over here.
I caught one of the shows at the Middle East back in December-- a little uninspired, but it's great to see them back at it.
They played a couple new songs which weren't exactly a return to form, but were pretty solid. And they can still rip a few of those older tunes apart-- Holy Smoke, Hope I Never Lose My Wallet, their cover of Tin Soldiers.
I have a special place in my heart for these guys-- they were my first through fourth ever concerts as a middle schooler. I still get a bit misty at the thought of Toxic Toast :)
