aaf.jpgYesterday’s post about Stone Temple Pilots’ upcoming reunion show inspired a few commenters to reminisce about Alien Ant Farm, whose album truANT was produced by STP’s DeLeo brothers. Well, in a startling example of the Internet butterfly effect, the news that the band’s original lineup is reuniting just crossed the Idolator transom. Whoa. (I wouldn’t have mentioned this if the band hadn’t come up in the comments section yesterday, but the timing of this bit of news was just too weird.) [AbsolutePunk]

Candyman syndrome. We must tread warily.

They played the infamous Tempe Music Festival two years ago, alongside such luminaries as Lit, Train, Vertical Horizon, G. Love and Special Sauce, and Gin Blossoms.

Guess that wasn’t their original lineup, but who would’ve noticed?

I always thought their Smooth Criminal was better than MJ’s. Also, one of like three songs from millennial alternative rock that I thought were worth anything. (See also: Kittie, “Brackish”)

They had a new album 18 months ago (and it was only their third); is this a situation of the bass player coming back into the fold or something? If so, who cares?
