Yes, I realize the irony of having noted romantic Greg Dulli put together an all-love-songs playlist. However, the Afghan Whigs did do a terrific cover of “Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe”–not to mention all of Uptown Avondale!–so at least you know the man has impeccable taste as far as classic jams go. After reading his comments, Greg Dulli needs a blog or a column somewhere.
The man who wrote “My Curse” is a romantic? Huh?
Very cool.
Don’t forget his fantastic cover of “You’ve Changed” a-la Billie Holiday.
He does the greatest I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man.
I adore him.
*sigh*
Excellent.
@futurehorse: Hence… the irony
I loved his story about the girl that invited him to her prom (he told it to the AV Club, I think). He asked her if she’d ever actually listened to his lyrics.
