Then again, I have no illusion of having A&R skills. I’d be the equivilent of that Decca A&R rep who turned down the Beatles, except at least that guy acquitted himself by signing the Stones. I’d probably have no such counterweight.

The Mike Flowers pop single wasn’t even the most egregious Oasis tie-in. Some record company actually released a single by an Oasis cover band, Nowaysis (clever, that) … a cover of “I’d Like to Teach The World To Sing”, which provides the blueprint of Oasis’ early single “Shakermaker.” Ahhh, Britpop.
