The BitTorrent tracker Demonoid, which went offline in November after threats from the Canadian Recording Industry Association threatened to deplete its resources, appears to be back online–sort of. While the Web site, which is hosted in the U.S., doesn’t yet have links to it up, the long-dormant tracker is responding to requests–and hosted in Malaysia, according to TorrentFreak. The exclamation points and googly-eyed smiley faces popping up on the “no filesharing discussions allowed (except in extreme cases, I guess)” Demonoid boards would further bear out the news that the tracker is back in some form.
