Justice Of The Unicorns Envision A Magic Marker Rapture In Our Worst Album Cover Of The Year Race

As so often with entries in the WACOTY, the sleeve for Angels With Uzis from Brooklyn rock band Justice Of The Unicorns tiptoes along that fine line between “best” and “worst,” with its pointy-breasted seraphim shooting hearts from the titular Uzis, rendered in the style of a Mr. Sketch virtuoso, to the Left Behind-style apocalypse, with God’s rainbow love raining down on the heathens being consumed by fire. Frankly, I just can’t decide. But in the final judgment, it is not for me to decide which covers will serve in heaven and which will reign in hell, but you.

This is the cherry on top of today’s sundae of suck.

The headline had me envisioning a “supergroup” comprised of members from Justice, The Unicorns and The Rapture, designed solely to make some P4K editor’s head explode.

The cover may be terrible, but Angels With Uzis is an awesome name.

It’s a hat trick of horrible with the cover, the band name, and the album name.

It is excellent. Bonus points to Jess for placing “pointy-breasted” and “titular” in such close proximity.

uh, awesome if it was all hand drawn, terrible as it stands.

angels with uzis is a great title

I’d rather go to hell than to have an Uzi that shot out hearts. That’s like that lame power ring from Captain Planet and the Planeteers–every other Planeteer could do something awesome with their rings Ma-Ti was stuck with a heart ring and his monkey (although [en.wikipedia.org] would say otherwise).

I saw the top half of the cover before reading the headline, or anything else, and my first thought was, “Wow. Aoki made another mix CD already?”

I think that’s probably just about as damning a thing about this cover as could be said.

Just about the stupidest thing I have ever seen.

@FionaScrapple: Then you missed the post about Soulja Boy’s shoes. I’d wear this album design on a shirt first.

is their name intentionally supposed to be “hip music 2001-2008″?

I have learned a valuable lesson from looking at all of these crappy album covers. You really can judge a book by its cover.
