Any person who is marketing/PR or business knows better. Or should.

Even if the label or PR company isn’t repping somebody that you’re interested in today, that doesn’t mean that they won’t be repping somebody of interest tomorrow. Personally, I write about music because I love it (it’s definitely not for the money, heh!) and to get the freebies, you have to make some contacts.

It’s equally unprofessional to slam some poor publicist or intern for this kind of email as it is to have received it in the first place. Perhaps it would have been better to send a nice email pointing out the young lady’s faux pax and to ask for a review copy of the new CD they’re pushing than to dis her in public. After all, she could be the publicist at your favorite indie label tomorrow…

And, yeah, something something about bloggers.

If you can’t handle a couple hundred spam emails a day in stride, you haven’t been doing this job long enough.

Also, no offense, Idolators, but the people getting all salty are running music blogs and podcasts, which to me, puts them one step ahead on the media pyramid over those with really well thought out Facebook pages.
