Paramore Lead Singer Asserts That Band Is Not Breaking Up, Uses Unfortunate “Juno” Quote

AP080210038560.jpgHayley Williams, the Technicolor-haired lead singer of the band Paramore, has returned to the band’s blog, saying that their American tour is still a go, that the break they are taking is not a sign that they are breaking up, and that her fairly vague, rumor-sparking post from earlier this week was nothing more than an attempt to tell the “simple truth” about the hard times her band is going through. Of course, she had to ruin any goodwill engendered from her “everything’s gonna be OK” statement by quoting Diablo Cody’s “my Eggo is preggo” line from the wretcheder-than-the-rest-of-it first 20 minutes of Juno, but she is kinda young, so I’ll let that slide. Star Spotting: Hayley Williams, You're Still In The Running For America's Next Top Adorable Lead Singer
I've never been shy about my love for Hayley Williams. The Paramore frontgirl is bold and opinionated and FREAKING ADORABLE. She also has red hair, and as a fellow redhead, I feel like we're cosmic BFFs. She just doesn't know it yet.

Chesbro said that the scene was his favorite part of the video to film. A music video for "The Only Exception" was directed by Brandon Chesbro, who had been working with Paramore for over two years. The song's music video was Chesbro's music video directorial debut.

Lol, she’s the only one looking into the camera. That’s why she’s the star!

  2. Anonymous  |   Posted on Feb 22nd, 2008

@Tenno: I don’t know….the guys seem a little too perfectly posed in that “I’m so rock n roll man, I don’t even notice the cameras anymore” way.

Or maybe avoiding the spotlight in an attempt to showcase the lead singer was part of the contract they had to sign before joining the band?

They should call Kelly Rowland for advice on how to handle….

They’re looking for someone to talk to them. The girl just knows to smile and be pretty and shes set.

Holy shit, I could care less about this band and yet I’ve talked about them in like 4 articles.

    DAMN YOU INTERNETS!

@HONEYBFLY: Meanwhile, she’s calling Amy Lee.

Again–who the fuck are these people?

  6. revmatty  |   Posted on Feb 22nd, 2008

I’ve only heard one track from them and wasn’t overly impressed. She doesn’t have the chops of Amy Lee, but she’s young and may polish with time. The band is workman-like but nothing out of the ordinary. How did they get signed again?

  7. sicksteanein  |   Posted on Feb 22nd, 2008

@revmatty: Ironically, for the same reason they are breaking up.

  8. Tenno  |   Posted on Feb 22nd, 2008

@sicksteanein: Didn’t they start off as total Christians too, or am I just wiling my days wastefully?

  9. drjayphd  |   Posted on Feb 22nd, 2008

Good thing she didn’t break out “honest to blog”, lest they have to break up… at gunpoint.

  10. @Tenno: They have Christian beliefs and played at a Christian Festival, but that is about it. Otherwise, they are just another garage band that somehow hit it big with their second album.

There’s no story here. Of course she said this. What is she going to say, “Yes, we’re probably fucked as a band, we’ll most likely break up”? I hope they do, hate this group.

Ah yes, then Amy Lee is the LAST person they should go to.
