@extracrispy: Notwithstanding Maura's correction above, and despite the fact that I very very very much want Friedman to be wrong, I'm afraid he might be right: neither Bowie nor the Pistols showed up. Hasn't every act that's ever shown up at the ceremony to receive their award also performed at least a little?

Plus, I have to imagine the people producing the show, including VH1, will all but beg Madge to warble a tune or two. I mean, there goes the show's ratings if they can't get the biggest inductee to perform.

I could be wrong but I thought Bowie blew off the ceremony and everything else when we was inducted. Or do you mean first in attendance not to otherwise perform?
