energyflash.jpgIncidentally, any fans of today’s O.O.P., We Did It Again who want to indulge further in ’90s-rave nostalgia would do well to note Simon Reynolds’ new pressing of his 1998 electronic-music history Energy Flash–issued in the U.S. as Generation Ecstasy, one of the essential pop-music books, and sadly available in updated form (six new chapters, including a sprawling overview of the music since the book’s initial publication a decade back) only from Amazon UK. The book also leaves the discography and bibliography from the original pressing out. Luckily, Reynolds has included the full 1998 discog on one of the many mini-blogs he’s begun to archive his backlog of material, as well as a lightly updated bibliography (updating is, in fact, still in progress).
