James_HeyMa_sm.jpgA full post on the cover of the new album from Brit-rockers James was shouted down on the grounds that it’s not the “Worst Attempt To Manufacture Outrage Via An Album Cover” race. [Gigwise]

    This is a rip-off of the cover for Pearl Jam’s “Jeremy.”

    @AquaLung: And/or of Biggie’s “Ready to Die.”

    That said, I’m going to go listen to “Laid.” If you can get past all the Jesus references, its a really good album.

    @How do I say this … THROWDINI!: It’s a great album, their best. The one-two of “Lullaby”/”Skindiving” that closes it is absolutely entrancing. And “One of the Three,” for all the Jesus referencing, is actually a pretty deft (for an on the verge of ham-handed) meditation on faith versus belief.

    @Dan Gibson: I think it’s the first one in about 8 or 9 years, but I sort of stopped paying attention after Whiplash.

    Yeah, James broke up for awhile, but reunited a year or two ago for some very successful arena tours in Britain. I think this is their first album in quite some time.
