And man, I guess Kristy Lee figured that she had to go the "song closest to 'Amazing Grace' as far as yanking heartstrings goes" route in order to stay safe again. UGH.
Wow! That list is CRAP-TACULAR!!! Simon will be saying variations on this a lot tonite: "...terrible song choice..."

The Kristy Lee Cook thing has got to be a joke, right? Please say it's a joke!
I'll confess to being interested in seeing what Carly will do with that song. I suspect she's been singing it for years.
I'm thinking this has to be a joke - not just because of Kristy Lee Cook (I wonder if she'll wear star-spangled ripped jeans), but also because of the TWO Sting songs ("Every Breath You Take" may be one of the worst songs to sing on Idol, as it only has two notes, except in the bridge where you actually have to try to sound out of tune/"pitchy"), Ramiele doing Heart, etc.
If these are the actual picks, this episode could be a masterpiece of an abomination.
@Rob Murphy: That's the most plausible pick in the list, IMHO. I can already hear her sing it.

Anybody else besides me want to punch David Cook for that scowl in the photograph? Dude, not smiling isn't "rock."

@Maura Johnston: Or maybe the "letdown spot". Kirsty Lee's performance was too awesome for words. I fully expect her to do "Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue" during Country Week.
If I was doing a song from the year I was born, it'd have to be "Send in the Clowns" or something by Captain and Tennille.
