Ellen Page Sings Diablo Cody's 'Zub Zub' On Soundtrack Sequel

juno.jpgJuno B-Sides: Almost Adopted Songs, a sequel to the chart-topping Juno soundtrack, will be released on April 8 as an iTunes exclusive before hitting other digital retailers in May. "None of these songs made the movie, but they are all essential members of the Junoverse," says Juno director Jason Reitman, who will pay dearly for coining the term "Junoverse." Dearly.

Along with the Kimya Dawson and Belle & Sebastian ditties you'd expect to find in the refuse of the "Junoverse." We'll also get the chance to hear "Zub Zub," a song written by Oscar-winning pariah Diablo Cody. Here's the deleted "Zub Zub" scene, with some sextra wit at the end (like the word sextra? Don't use it, its in my screenplay).

Sadly, the eight-minute song about Danny Trejo will not also be available.

  • Does its incessant coverage make Idolator part of the junoverse?

  • @Thesemodernsocks: We're all part of the Junoverse, dude.

  • "Duuuude, that was tits."

  • Hideous. the very hackiest "Friends" writer (on the later seasons when it really wasn't funny anymore and they were desperately trotting out every big name guest star they could find to cover it up) would be embarrassed to have written this script.

I remember when winning the "best screenplay" Oscar took a little more than stringing together some trite B-list sitcom-level banter. In the good old days, when we had real writers, like...

    Sophia Coppola.

    Yeah, nevermind.

  • if i could go back in time and make one thing never have happened it'd be the hype surrounding this movie.

  • Why isn't this tagged with "honest to blog?" Yeah, Juno is now on that list with Vampire Weekend of things I just don't have the energy to hate on anymore. My screed-writin boots shall go back in the cupboard, for now...

  • Yes but what GREAT titties.

  • So is the Junoverse kind of like how all of St. Elsewhere took place in the dream of an autistic boy?

  • Starting tomorrow, April the 1st, all idolators and their loved ones are forbidden to use Juno-isms ever again! It was a cute movie, but It Is Over, unnastand? And just like Audrey Tautou in Amelie, Ellen Page is doomed to be Juno forever. Okay, homeskillet?

  • the reason people are still talking about juno is that they can't make up their minds on whether it was good or not. imean michael cera and ellen page and jason bateman were amazing, yet the movie was very pretty, but the script was a horrifying excuse for poorly executed highly contrived "conversations" about music that you're supposed to abandon in freshman year creative writing. when diablo cody got that oscar i wanted to throw up. imagine napolean dynamite winning an oscar. for writing. that's what just happpened.

and also if junoverse becomes a thing i'm gonna take over this motherfucking country and install my self as supreme chancellor or something and just burn every single copy of every single pastel colored pseudo-indie flick that is chocked full of one liners for infinite social dispersal. seriously.
