Yesterday, Slash took a break from publicly excommunicating Weiland to unveil a new line of personalized Gibson axes. No word on whether or not he'll also be passing out free soft drinks guitars to lucky Americans if STP manages to pull of this summer's proposed reunion dates. [NME]

I nearly shat myself when I came across Gibson student-grade electrics for $75 at Big Lots (Pic-n-Save). Between that and not honoring the $10K new artist / Lollapalooza prize a while back, I'd rather use a Gibson to prop up a broken barstool.
True story: Me & my buddy partied with Slash a few years ago. We closed the Rainbow and headed to my friend's house for after hours. At some point, after cranking Exile on Mainstreet to 10, Slash became obsessed with my friend's fancy art deco ashtray, the kind you would see in the lobby of a hotel in the 50's - all chromed with a glass stem with a light inside it. Slash offered my friend to trade a guitar for the ashtray. For some reason my friend turned him down. Later in the evening, my friend negotiated to trade an orange OP tshirt for the Black Death Vodka tshirt Slash was wearing. It was a weird night.
I just felt like sharing that.
