After a fan got his ear gnawed off (ewww) at a show by Japanese rockers Boris, the band spotted and returned said ear and penned a tune about the ordeal. A local hardcore band once located a sneaker I had lost in a pit, but only because someone had lobbed it at their singer's noggin. (They chose not to include "I Almost Got Beaned By Some Dork's Size 16 Chuck Taylor" on their next record.) [Pitchfork]

    Once when a friend of mine crowd-surfed at a Ramones show, Joey Ramone pulled his shoe off (my friend's, not Joey's) and threw it into the audience. He had to stay until everyone else had left to find it.

    My (brand new) glasses got knocked off my head at a Pixies show in Kalamazoo back in the day. I stuck around until the end and found them pulverized on the floor. Flattened. The lenses had been ground into sand. Fortunately, they came with a 30-day warranty. So I brought them back to the store, said "These broke," and got a new pair for free.
