60123_sheffield_rob.gifAs sorta-predicted by the Anono-Critic, pop omnivore and Love Is A Mix Tape author Rob Sheffield is leaving his post at Rolling Stone and following that mag’s former executive editor, Joe Levy, to Blender, where he’ll write a monthly column. Huh. So now, instead of not reading Sheffield in RS, I won’t be reading him in Blender.

  2. Chris Molanphy

I’ll say again what I’ve said before: anyone who pooh-poohs Blender on principle hasn’t actually read it — a shocking number of critics I respect write, and write well, for them.

  3. Oldboy

Yeah, Bob Christgau wrote for Blender, so there!

  4. Cam/ron

Oh good, now we’ll hear more of his “fundit” comments about new wave bands on VH1.

  5. Anonymous

Love Is A Mixtape was pretty good.

  6. Sara Sherr

Not a surprise, since Levy brought him to Details years ago.

So lemme get this straight: all the Spin people are at Rolling Stone, all the Rolling Stone people are at Blender, now who is left at Spin?

Yes, I’m nerdy enough to pay attention to this stuff.
