It would seem that the leak of Madonna’s Hard Candy has succeeded in taking out most of the pop music leak blogs that linked to its Rapidshare-enabled downloads earlier today, i.e., most of the pop music leak blogs that weren’t demolished by the great Mariah Carey blog purge of early 2008. For now, anyway–who knows where else this game of whack-a-mole can lead us? [Where Is Chris Pix?!?]

Derek Bell, is that you?
@loudersoft: I came to that realization yesterday about 3 tracks into it. Seriously, worst Madonna record ever.

Wow, I didn’t know the Idolator was a fan of the 2001 Pittsburgh Pirates..
Fortunately for most of us, any other single released to radio that isn’t 90% carried by Timberlake will have little to no success.
So I think once the initial wave of press for this crap album has passed, we’ll be in the clear.
If I were Madonna, I wouldn’t want this album to leak either. Once people download it they might realize it isn’t worth paying for.
But look — if you’re dumb enough to post links to an unreleased Madonna album on your blog, you get what you deserve. Sorry. No sympathy.
