One last bit of NME Awards USA hoo-ha. Mick Jones, winner of this year’s Godlike Genius award, has written (or is joking about having written) a song inspired by the “don’t tase me, bro!” incident that shocked and amused the world last year. “It’s gonna go like this, dun-dun-dun … Aaaargh!” says the former Big Audio Dynamite guitarist. This would be a lot more awesome if it was the former Foreigner guitarist.
One of last year’s most infamous Internet sensations, the “Don’t tase me, bro!” arrest of an excitable college student, is getting a new lease of life from former Clash rocker Mick Jones.
He told Reuters on Wednesday that he has written a song by that name for his second album with Carbon/Silicon, the band he formed with fellow punk veteran Tony James.
Jones said the Carbon/Silicon album would be called “Yeah, Whatever.com.” Other tunes will include “The Dirge,” “A Fresh Start” and “What’s Up, Doc?”
He and James have also been tackling a few songs by rock band Oasis.
“I liked ‘em when they first started out, quite a bit. I liked their eyebrows,” he said, referring to brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher.

FYI, Mick Jones is STILL the guitarist for Foreigner. I just saw ‘em at the Canyon Club last week…the room was full of cougars in heat, and it was awesome.
He looks like he could be Amy Winehouse’s grandfather.

From the headline, I was hoping he was going to sing “Medicine Show” to a dazed and scared Matt and Luke Goss.

That’s another Mick Jones who is in Foreigner…same Mick Jones was in another amazing band called Spooky Tooth and also arranged and worked with Francoise Hardy during the late 60’s and early 70’s…
This Mick Jones is not the same one…(of course!)
