Gorilla Damon Albarn has a new album planned for a July release. No word on what the project will be named, but there will definitely be a 100-person Chinese choir present and the title will likely feature the word "monkey." It's also possible that some of the "80, 90 musicians" involved will be musical legends rendered unrecognizable on the final recording. [This Is Fake DIY]

Ahem, or it could be a triumphant musical opus. Lauded by many a music critic as "quiet genius". Yep, I'm sure I'm more close to being correct here.
90 musicians? 100 person chinese choir? thats why i think damon albarn is the best working musician in the world right now. that and everything else he's touched since blur. except that rapper he showed up on later with a while back. still. what a hero..
jesus, look at that picture. I don't think I could hate this guy more if I lived in a country where he's actually famous.
I like the Gorillaz ok, but it makes me sad that we have transitioned from "Blur's Damon Albarn" in headlines.
@ noamjamski: One day hopefully he'll just be Damon Albarn (with no qualifier in front of his name) in America. I've tried to let go of the pain that the end of Blur has caused. Now, if only the NME could follow suit and quit dredging up reunion rumors every 10 minutes I'd have time to heal....
