Whole Foods Rushing Into The Void Left By Starbucks

laswell.jpgIn an effort to figure out alternate revenue streams now that the crap economy is making its overpriced organic goods a little too overpriced for its clientele, Whole Foods has launched a music discovery series of its own: “‘Greg Laswell is a brilliant new singer/songwriter who reminds us of the first time we heard artists like Coldplay and Nick Drake,’ states Nisan Perera, Senior Brand Strategist for Inspire Entertainment, the company in charge of music and media for Whole Foods Market.” Something tells me that the fact that he’s touring with music-supervisor faves like Ingrid Michaelson and Sara “I write my songs in such a way to maximize my videos’ ‘impish smile’ quotient” Bareilles is a lot more descriptive of Laswell’s sound than Perera’s description.
