There’s something missing from your fall calendar. In all the excitement to schedule raking leaves and buying pumpkins you forgot to pencil in Alanis Morissette’s upcoming tour! That’s right, Alanis is back with a new album–called Flavors of Entanglement, which sounds vaguely lurid in that obnoxiously oblique Alanis Morissette kind of way–and she’ll be making the rounds starting in September.
“I would believe a North American tour would start mid-September,” the Canadian singer-songwriter told Billboard.com during a teleconference with reporters on Thursday (May 8). “We’ll be going back and forth from Europe to America probably three times throughout the summer, doing our own shows and probably some festivals as well.”
While some promotional dates and radio station concerts are being set up, Morissette starts her tour proper on May 31 at the Rock in Rio festival in Lisbon. Her European run also includes festival shows in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Norway, Italy, Spain, Romania, Turkey, France, Belgium, Hungary and the U.K. No specific North American shows have been announced yet.
Funny you should mention the teleconference, Billboard, as at least one very vocal freelance writer definitely has something to say about that particular promotional clusterfuck. It seems as if Alanis, presumably deluded by her many years of megastardom, is not particularly sensitive to the needs of freelance journalists, and, furthermore, does not possess the correct skills set to properly respond to being harassed via conference call. That Alanis Morissette would be an inconsiderate prat with no sense of humor, and that a bitter freelance writer would then blog about it, are perhaps two of the least surprising events of the modern age.

Waah, freelance writer getting a raw deal waaaaaaaaaaaaah…
I wouldn’t want that guy to interview me, either. What a self-impressed twatstick.
I love Alanis. Why does she get no respect? (Not from this guy, just generally.)
And that photo on dingus’s blog of her in the nudie suit is from when she gamely hosted the Junos five years ago, totes poking fun at herself.
Heart. (Although judging from her myspace ramble I think she joined a cult.)
That kinda stuff usually happens because management overschedules the artist or something. I’d wager Alanis never even knew she was supposed to do the interview.
The goddess cometh!
