Ben Affleck, How Could You?

May 13th, 2008 // 9 Comments

Ben Affleck has disavowed his appearance in the legendary video for his then-fiancee’s track “Jenny from the Block,” saying it nearly ruined his career. Ben, how could you say that?

First of all, there’s the moment every time the song appears when I think that, by some miracle, it’s actually the Beatnuts, before the disappointment sets in. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?

Secondly, you might think the video makes you look like a “petulant fool”, but the few seconds of you rubbing lotion on J.Lo’s ass are vastly more watchable than the entirety of He’s Just Not That Into You is likely to be. We’ve all made mistakes, Ben. You have Bounce, I own several Newsboys discs. It happens, dude… it’s all in how you recover.

  1. Dead Air ummm Dead Air

Couldn’t of been worse then Reindeer Games.

Of course…Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms, yo.

  2. sicksteanein

Let me add Paycheck to that list.

Newsboys… underrated in my opinion! A good pop band, sometimes.

BS. Nothing can ruin the Affleck’s career.

Ever since Paycheck, anything Affleck disavows is plucked from the past, and never actually existed in our time-line. This is how we know he didn’t actually disavow it.

@villagegreen: I’d agree with you, I think. A few years ago I probably would have refused any knowledge of them – honestly they have some great pop/rock songs.

  6. Jon Can Dance

@TheMojoPin: I would admit in a second that I had Paperboy’s album if that were the case.

  7. TheMojoPin

Subtract Newsboys and admit you have Paperboy’s album instead.

    Yeah, Paperboy, fools.

hmm…intresting…I actually have and enjoy some of the newsboys albums, there kinda like to U2 of CCM, and they’ve got one really awesome new song called “something beautiful” you outta check it out, but yeah nothing can ruin Ben Affleck’s careerr period.

    @U2Pop: Aren’t U2 “the U2 of CCM”?
