Sure, you’re probably assuming that radio is a dying scene for advertisers. Listeners are fleeing to satellite radio, the internet, cans connected with string, etc., while radio conglomerates grasp at straws like cell phones and HD radio to ensure some presence in the media future. You have it wrong, pal. Radio is as vibrantly exciting as ever, and Clear Channel has a flashy Web site to prove it.
Welcome to Total Radius. It’s bright, it’s yellow, and it has a lot of irritating video to prove to you that you can trust your money with Clear Channel. After all, look at what’s happening with terrestrial radio these days!
Our structure is building station brands locally and format brands nationally. Formats: News/ Talk/Sports, Rock (Classic + Alternative), Contemporary Hit Radio (CHR), Country, Adult Contemporary (Soft/Hot AC). Investing in high growth niche formats: Hispanic, Urban, Religious, and Pride Radio. Leading content syndicator, Premiere Radio Networks ( 70+ programs to 5,000 stations)
What’s most disconcerting, possibly, is the future of advertising.
+ Shorter length messaging using Adlets, Blinks and custom integrated sonic branding (:15s, :05s, :02s and :01s)
If a five-second ad isn’t difficult enough to process, two- and one-second ads seem like a horrible future where advertising consists of someone yelling from a passing car.

Jesus, that fucking sucked.
Can I be violated again, please?

Great news for auctioneers!
The shorter ad lengths are in direct response to the new way that Arbitron gathers its listener data now. It measures down to minute by minute listening patterns and the early data says people turn the station when ads come on. So stations have to find a way to keep listeners tuned in without losing ad dollars.
Blipvertising!!
Max Headroom was way prescient!
@Silverfuture: Indeed! Now, let’s see how long it takes before someone literally explodes while listening. Or, wait, has that already happened?
Please die, radio. So that music may live again.
Soft/Hot AC? My air conditioner has both!
My dad used to manage a local radio station (pop > 9000) bought out by Clear Channel. After doubling sales records there, they decided that his performance was lacking… … wtf ferreal?
Anyway, I’m not big on Clear Channel.
“And NOW! Another 30-minute jam-free commercial!” Hey, why did you change the station?
