I read somewhere a while ago that the reason Page couldn't put up with him any longer was for Mr. Coverdale's penchant for cursing. Concert performances would be like:

"Good fucking evening ladies and fucking gentleman. On fucking guitar this very fucking night in front of your very fucking eyes is the one, the fucking only, Jimmy fucking Page! [applause] Fucking right! Let him fucking know you fucking love him!"
