Every year, a mind-blowing and ever-increasing amount of guitarists shows up at the Thanks Jimi Festival in Wroclaw, Poland, to jam on "Hey Joe." In 2006, they broke the world record by pulling together 1,581 budding six-stringers. Earlier this month, they got in shooting range of 2,000. Some clips of the 2008 event below.
Am the only person who gets a little scared when all the guitars are raised at the end? Maybe I'm just not comfortable with Eastern Europeans doing stuff in unison. Come on, America, I'm sure we have more Jimi fans than Poland. Let's show 'em how it's done! For Freedom!

I too hate when Eastern Europeans do stuff in unison. That being said, this was a perfect opportunity for someone to unleash a brown note. You dropped the ball again, Poland.
Glenn Branca needs a bigger rolodex.
