Pitchfork.tv has a full live set by Black Mountain, the Canadian sludge-rock outfit whose second full-length, In The Future, is somber and spooky and all kinds of great. Vocalist Amber Webber’s PJ Harvey-like caterwaul is in full effect on the organ-laced march “Queens Will Play,” which is above, but the full set is definitely worth your time if you haven’t seen them in concert, as they were one of the standout acts I’ve seen all year. There’s definnitely a “hashish lounge” element here, much like Brightblack Morning Light. I’m impressed with the camerawork, nice job Pitchfork.
They were so amazing when I saw them earlier this year. Absolutely no stage banter at all, either!
Fantastic, I’ll have to pick-up the new one for sure now.
Black Mountain are SUPERIOR. Saw them twice this year and both shows were monumental. A truly great rock band.
Smoke hash and stay free.
Absolutely mesmerizing. It just grooves and groove and grooves.
The band were great live and “In The Future” is a solid album.
