Recall that reports from last week were that Cook would be singing Collective Soul’s “The World I Know” — but he in fact sang Switchfoot’s “Dare You To Move”. Maybe the spies aren’t fully up on their musical knowledge?

Anyway, that preface in order to suggest that Cook might sing not “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” but instead “With Or Without You”. And “the biggest star in the world” guest star will be Jennifer Aniston, who will come out and say “Remember that one episode during the ‘we were on a break!’ story arc where Ross called the radio station and requested they play that song and now somewhere in the world at least once a day that episode is rerun and Bono and the boys get another royalty and they’ll be rolling in money for the rest of their lives because I’m the biggest star in the world? Good times…”

I usually don't chime in with "serious" guesses on the blind-item-y things, but I thought "the biggest star in the world = Bono" yesterday until someone guessed Madonna and that sounded very plausible. A Bono swing-by also gives the producers another obvious way to flog Idol Gives Back again.

And doesn't it seem like Bono would be less likely than Madonna to think it beneath his dignity and stature to be on the Idol stage and -- GASP! -- maybe actually perform with one or more of them???

So, yeah, I'm going back to my original thinking -- Bono.
