David Cook is no Fantasia, for sure. And I don’t see how David Cook is any less lame than David Archuleta. I’m surprised by how many people see Cook as unique and edgy, when he’s not even close. Every time somebody tells me how great David Cook is (even my family members), my first reaction is that they must not be very sophisticated musically. I know that’s wrong, but that kind of statement pushes a button for me….

I wasn't as offended by the Mike Myers Guru as many people here seem to be. What's up, are yall Monty Python fans? Besides, the comment about Archie "soon growing hair in fun places and making a boom-boom in his pull-ups" is now one of my favorite AI moments of all times. Archie's face of confusion spoke for itself!

I am so stoked that David Cook won. Even though I was still getting busy signals two hours into the voting, I did not see any AI blogger pundit forecasting a Cook victory. On my drive home I was listening to some radio show and they had like 4 calls in a row all claiming to be Cook's fans, but thinking that Archie was the winner. So tonight's results are a huge surprise. I haven't been this excited since Fantasia won, 4 years ago. About damn time already!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been on a deeply serious George Michael kick for weeks now, but I have to admit, his performance tonight might've just kicked me off that, err, kick. (Ahem.) He did not look or sound particularly good. I really hate it when massively talented people lose the plot so thoroughly.

Also: there are like three different melody lines in the chorus of "Father Figure" and yet you have all twelve people singing the same one? Foolishness!

Wow, what a finale!!?! And, good for D.C...that ZZ Top performance was rockin'!!

That skit with Myers was pretty funny, too. I'm gonna have to check out the love guru, next month.

And then, Seacrest almost bit-it on that "flying-carpet," haha...
