Your First Look At Fred Durst And Ice Cube's The Longshots

Here's the trailer for The Longshots (formerly Comeback), the film that Fred Durst and Ice Cube's careers have been building toward for a long time. Who better than the authors of "Nookie" and "Givin' Up The Nappy Dug Out" to tell the story of the first female quarterback in a Pop Warner football tournament. Snoop Dogg's Pop Warner movie is still in development, so maybe he'll shout "I believe in you, bitch!" from the stands in a cameo.

While Durst is the director of The Longshots, he's also shown some talent in front of the screen as well. In 2006's Population 436, the Chocolate Starfish plays a simple-minded deputy sheriff of a town whose population count hasn't changed in over one hundred years. Jeremy Sisto plays a census bureau investigator who discovers the town's dark secret, and has sex with Durst's would-be girlfriend while Fred watches in horror through a hole in the barn wall. This clip, sadly, does not include that sequence.

  • I'm overwhelmed with emotion.

  • I've actually seen that movie. Robert Englund was in it.

  • It doesn't look bad. It doesn't look good either.

Nice to see that Fred Durst isn't above that greatest of comedic tropes, a football in the groin.

  • My son has written some the greatest music you love to hate! Break Stuff happens to be my favorite song ever, and the all of the music created by Fred came from hours and hours of hard work and a lot of sacrifice from Fred and the band. No one could be as proud of Fred when I observed how much respect he earned by the crew and all of the staff when I visited the movie set of Longshots. He wouldn’t rest until he had done his best on every single aspect of directing this movie. I know you are saying, “But you are just his mother,” but what you may not know is that I have always been his hardest critic. I tell him the truth just as I am telling it to you. Longshots is a tremendous movie. Icecube is an unbelievably talented actor in this movie, and was so humble to everyone. (He gave up his chair to me whenever I came onto the set, like a true gentleman, insisting that I be as comfortable as possible.) I will never forget his kindness and neither will the entire crew. So, as with Fred’s music you love to hate, I hope you love to hate the wonderful director, Fred Durst, in the movie, Longshots. Having Fred Durst as my son is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to my life. I have always loved to love him. I love you guys, too. Anita Durst
