Linkin Park Sacrifice Their Lives To Resurrect A Dying Sun

I still haven’t seen Sunshine (No. 23 on my queue, between Primer and MST3K: Ring Of Terror), but from the trailer alone I know Linkin Park’s new video for “Leave Out All The Rest” shamelessly swipes many of its visuals. I’m totally fine with that, as the idea of Linkin Park floating in space and singing one last song of regret before being burnt alive in the ultimate act of martyrdom is pretty sweet. Mike Shinoda removing a space helmet, Chester floating in zero gravity, a tense band meeting with lots of paper ruffling before retiring to their hyperbaric chambers, virtual chess games–this video has it all. Updated- Linkin Park: Artist Evolution
Limp Bizkit was the biggest band in the world in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. By the year 2000, every critic hated Fred Durst. A lot. By the time Linkin Park was entering into the Alternative/Rock genre, critics were sick of nu-metal. It’s similar ...

I think this is fantastic…now if only MTV could find a way to fit this video in between reruns of ‘Top Model’…

    Sunshine was cool.

Shouldn’t Diddy and Mase be dancing like spazzes in that airlock?

MST3K should take precedent over both of those films.
“He is Eastman, he comes from the east to do battle with the great Rando!”

@Dick Laurent is dead.: Er.. ‘amazing Rando’, it’s been a while.

Saw this TWICE last night on MTV hits (not willingly, mind you), and though I haven’t seen Sunshine, my first reaction was LINKIN PARK DO SOLARIS! The song is terrible and wimpy and tuneless, btw. Couldn’t even tell you how it goes.

@the rich girls are weeping: i am so envious of you getting mtv hits.

@Maura Johnston: It’s one of the best perks of living in the Bklyn!

That being said, I’ve seen some of the playlists a few too many times. But I’m not complaining (too loudly).

@the rich girls are weeping: But do you get VH1 Soul?

  12. the rich girls are weeping  |   Posted on Jun 3rd, 2008

@Dan Gibson: Oh totally! And MTV Tres, and all the country stations AND BET J.

@the rich girls are weeping: BET Jazz is a big disappointment to me, with the exception of “Shears, Tears and Beauty”.

Oddly, I get MTV Tres over the air, but not via cable. Regardless, this Brooklyn seems like a magical place.

I loved ‘Sunshine’. If only all men in the future has cheekbones like Cillian Murphy. *swoon*

Cool — write about Linkin Park some more!

@Dan Gibson: It’s just Bed-Stuy, man. It IS a magical place.

BET J actually does pull through sometimes — though, I miss Reggaeton Rush Hour, which doesn’t seem to air any more.

I am totally addicted to MTV Tres. Especially MexMix. And Sucker Free Latino.
