Last night on The Daily Show, Jon Stewart enlisted the B-52's Fred Schneider to turn snippets of Scott McLellan's audiobook version of What Happened—in which the former White House press secretary makes the shocking claim that the current U.S. president might be something of a propagandist (I know, right?)—into a party at the Love Shack. Schneider looks half-mortified to be there, perhaps because he's without his foils Kate Pierson and Cindy Wilson, or perhaps because he knows, deep in his heart, that "Rock Lobster" would have been a much more appropriate choice for the backing music. I can't decide if the looks on Schneider's face read This is what I've been reduced to or just reflect his droll Southern humor. Prolly a little from Column A...
I am going to read back my playlists on-air like this from now on.
@Chris Molanphy: Nah, he's very droll. He's also the best dirty joke-teller I've ever had the pleasure of eavesdropping on.
Heh. Stewart said "zazz".
It was my impression that Schneider's hangdog manner was supposed to be part of the joke.
He could read the Magna Carta and make it sound like he was calling the moves for an tiki party dance.

Yeah, Fred's quiet, nervous demeanor was purely for comic effect. It made his bombastic reading of McClellan's book that much funnier. Way to go Fred!
Scooooooooooooooooter LIBBY!
That name has been crying out for Schneiderization for years.
