If anything, I&#039;d say the unusually confrontational style of Bush-era politics (from both sides) was the anomaly and Obama&#039;s rise is just the reflection of things balancing out. Apparently there&#039;s this obligation in US politics to talk about your candidate as the Second (or First, for the Jews in the audience) Coming instead of, you know, taking a more sober view.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
