Turns Out Roger Friedman Was At Least Half Right

CapitolRecordsLogo.jpgAs we mentioned earlier today, the executive offices at Capitol were rumored to be a lot quieter with the departures of President Lee Trink and CEO Jason Flom. Flom is (as of this moment) still employed, but Trink announced his resignation today. Ian Ralfini, of EMI subsidiary Manhattan Records (possibly best known for the Celtic Woman franchise), takes over marketing oversight until a replacement is found or EMI gives up on actually telling people about their records. I still get emails about Relient K from them. Not a sign of the apocalypse.

friedman was right about flom. he said the resignation was forthcoming, not that he was already gone. billboard and the wsj confirmed as much.

@coolfer: You should notice I did leave open that possibility: “at least half right” in the title. I’m not surprised Flom is leaving, since it doesn’t always take binoculars to see the iceberg coming.
