New Offspring Video Dives Into The Fog Of War, Corny Metaphors

Industrial chimneys spew black smoke; pigs wade in oil. An old man waits for his Metallica call-back; a tree catches fire. A robot horse rides through the night as fighter planes swoop down from above. The bomb explodes and a family’s picnic is interrupted by the friendly robot horse. A child watches TV. Fighter planes flap their wings like birds and approach the old man. A baby scowls. An army general surveys a junkyard, throwing soldiers off a tower of cars. The old man looks on. A baby scowls.

Plane-birds and tanks pulling large wrecking balls head towards to an unknown destination. A baby scowls. An “infantry” soldier with an Offspring logo on his forehead approaches a nursery in the jungle, feeding one of the babies with a bottle. A dark ooze drips out of the baby’s mouth as the soldier holds the child by its feet in front of an oil refinery. A man in a dunce cap holds a press conference. A baby scowls. The old man frowns. Plane-birds sit on an electric pole as a little girl pets a robot dog in the fog. The old man frowns. Children dance in oil from a fire hydrant. Soldiers’ bodies continue to pile. Pigs and elephants look on. Plane-birds collect around the oil refinery. A little girl tries to hold onto her robot dogs, only to have their leashes break. One of the dogs blow up. Pigs and elephants look on. The old man looks on. A boy hops on one leg. Pigs. A graveyard. A small boy bangs nails into a casket with his head while the army general watches approvingly. Two boys play catch with a bomb, which explodes. The dunce hides behind a desk. One of the child’s legs has been blown off. Elephants and pigs. The girl pets her robot dog. The boy bangs his head against the casket. A plane-bird pushes eggs out of its’ nest, which crack open, revealing little baby plane-birds. A robot dog picks at the bones of a soldier. A plane-bird flies towards the sunset as elephants and camels carry bombs.

War, man. War.

Chemotherapy in Parents May Make Offspring’s DNA Unstable & Riddled With Mutations
Chemotherapy is poison that happens to kill cancer cells faster than it kills healthy cells; that it wreaks havoc on the bodies of patients is unsurprising. But chemo may also affect their unborn children. According to a new study in PNAS, the ...

Wow, that’s very cool. They even, like, synched up the action to the vocals. When Dexter says “Go!,” the mechanical dog thing breaks off his leash. And then when Dexter says, “Oh!,” the mechnical dog thing blows up. Awesome.

@Chris Molanphy: Doubtless but it’s been ten years since I’ve seen that. (Well, nine.)
