Dizzee Rascal, David Byrne, And Fatboy Slim Tragically Together At Last

Fatboy Slim’s new project, the Brighton Port Authority, have released a queasy video full of black bars over boobs to promote their new single “Toe Jam.” David Byrne (who should have hung it up twenty years ago) handles the vocals and Dizzee Rascal offers a guest rap. I’m trying to think of who would have done the rap in 1998, back when this song could have plausibly been popular. Shaggy? [MySpace]

Go Dizzee Go, as if his Calvin Harris of recent wasn’t enough!

Are you serious about that David Byrne comment? He’s still a pretty engaging performer if nothing else and a real thinker, as evidenced by his anti-Tufte jab, EEEI.

Another great vid from Keith Schofield, who’s probably the best gimmick director working right now.

Ha, ha. Creative Censorship. I can deal with seeing the women, but that was one of the most annoying songs I’ve ever heard. At least the title reminded me of Toejam and Earl.

Would’ve been annoying in ‘98, even more so in ‘08.

Oh, and by the way, I’m not a Byrne hater, but seriously, has he made a record that inspired you to buy it, download it, or go see him live, in the last 10 years? (I lost all interest in him after his ‘94 self-titled album, which I liked.) Plus, he likes those “leech-like, non-business days”, so there. Ha!
