Let’s Just Get It Over With: All Bands Must Reform Right Now

Late-’80s UK boy band Bros, who you might remember from–who I am kidding, odds are you don’t remember Bros at all, unless you happened to see them open for Debbie Gibson during her Electric Youth tour. Well, they’re getting back together if they can work out the logistics, according to Bro Matt Goss. Just so you’re prepare, check out some of their career highlights after the cut.

Apparently, there was no stopping Bros for awhile; they had eight UK top ten singles. And the fans! Oh, the fans were so crazy!

“They’re still pretty insane,” Goss remarked, talking about his legion of fans. “They knew how to have a good time. That’s the way I feel. I think everyone that went to see Bros gigs had the best time and that’s the one reason we all agreed it’d be a good laugh if we did it.”

A good laugh, indeed. I suppose we have those pesky New Kids to blame for this, don’t we? I was going to make a joke about S’Express getting back together next week, but it turns out they already have. Somewhere the masterminds behind Jive Bunny are hiring a publicist, I just know it. C’mon everybody!

ahh Bros! I remember them fondly…being 7, watching Timmy Mallet..
    When will I, will I be famous? I can’t answer that….
I always thought them a tad creepy.

I don’t understand why nobody’s done a trashysexy Paris Hilton-style cover of “When Will I Be Famous?” yet. It would also be kind of great if MTV would adopt it as the theme song for, oh I don’t know, every show it airs, since that’s what they all boil down to at this point anyway.

“odds are you don’t remember Bros at all, unless you happened to see them open for Debbie Gibson during her Electric Youth tour.”

Uh, yeah. I totally did. But I also used to read Smash Hits (on import from the UK) at the time, and they were on the cover almost every week. I remember the teenybopper mags (16, Bop) covering them often as well, which is odd because they were pretty much hyping music none of us had ever heard.

I think we drove to the Debbie Gibson concert in a hurricane and were late to the Bros portion. But, of course, Debbie was awesome.

It’d be awesome if Panda Bear opened for them on tour.

Sure, have a laugh at S-Express’ expense, but back in 1988 that song was the JAM!
