I may be wrong, but I thought you couldn’t pre load an iPod, since you’re supposed to sync it with you machine which would wipe whatever was preloaaded? Which is why the U2 iPod came with a certificate to download the U2 catalog.

@Chris Molanphy: You guys aren't the only ones though. I still just don't get why it's such a big deal, unless they are planning on releasing new material or something like that. I mean, I understand it's the Beatles and all that, but considering anyone can rip a Beatles CD, I just don't get what's so exciting about being able to buy them via the iTunes store. So, I wish it would just happen already and maybe we could move on.

Idolator's been around since late '06, and we (I've been guilty, too) have been running predictions of the Beatles catalog on iTunes pretty much since then. I gave up believing any of them sometime in '07. I'm filing this alongside Chinese Democracy.
