Wow, that was horrible. Not a particularly insightful comment, I know, but this is speaking as someone who really likes the music of Ashlee Simpson.

One thing intrigues me about this little promo spot: she's lip-synching like a half-dozen or so different songs. Is she shooting all of the album's videos in one session? Can anyone with an industry job tell me if this is standard for a new artist?

That's both depressing and predictable, but the worst part is the pounds of makeup. She looks like a stand-in for Donna Mills on "Knots Landing."
