Ryan Adams is a bit of a musical chameleon to be sure…but Emo? um, no…
I’ll say, without a shred of sarcasm, that I’m geeked about this news. Dr Adams Films walked the unhinged – hilarious line surprisingly well, and Akashic is one of the coolest indie houses going (they also published the quite-good Artificial Light by GbV’s Jim Greer in 2006).
It’s a great fit, though I don’t really know what “a collection of prose” means–stories? essays? rants?
Best thing he ever wrote or said was referring to a Wilco documentary as “I Am Trying To Bore You To Death.” Other than that, I wish he would spend more time playing Chubby Bunny.
