Mariah Carey is rumored to be talking to the Planet Hollywood Casino in Vegas about establishing a three-year residency there, one that would result in her playing five nights a week at the casino while bringing home a cool $100 million. If I were her, I'd try and accelerate those negotations as quickly as possible, considering that the economy in that area in particular is souring, and most of the positive business-related stories I've seen coming out of there lately have been about the city's newly booming pawn-shop industry. Look, I love Mariah Carey as much as the next [wo]man, but she is killing me with this new "Real Housewives of Orange County" look. I mean seriously, just look at that picture up above. And parading about town in skin tight hello kitty and minnie mouse shirts with a 19 year old looking Nick Cannon sure doesn't help things. Not hating and/or dissing, just saying.
P.S. I'm still waiting for I'll Be Loving U Long Time to blow up like it's the new Fantasy [RMX]. That, and for her people to release the original sans T.I.
I lived in Las Vegas for two years, and let me assure you, there is no time where the pawn shop business there isn't booming ... along with the check cashing business. There are stores matching those descriptions on more or less every city block in Las Vegas, even nominally "affluent" areas.
