“You may recognize Bow Wow when he pops up on HBO’s Entourage this September as a new client of Eric’s (Kevin Connolly), but don’t bother looking for his name in the credits. The 21-year-old rapper-actor is opting to use his real moniker, Shad Moss.” Yes, this is a prelude to Mr. Wow hinting at his impending retirement from the rap game, or as I like to call it, “getting out while the getting’s good.” [EW]

i support it. if every single rapper ever is going to become an actor, at least use your real name. you don’t see Christian Bale acting under his rap name: C. Bale Da Sista Hitta.
…eh…on another note, has anyone ever stopped to take stock of just how many of the rapper-turned-actors are actually really good? and how few are just flat-out embarrassing themselves? jay-z should stick to rapping, but all in all there seems to be something about rapping that well prepares you for acting. could be memorization, inhabiting a character on demand, etc. that’s why Bon Jovi and Huey Lewis rule, too.
forgive my ignorance here but was bow wow (hey, at least i knew he dropped the “lil”) still in the game? is the game a lot more of a loosely defined sort of pick-up game than i remembered it being?
Ten years too late.
@westartedthis: Jay-Z’s part in State Property was the ONLY good part of the movie. Hilarious.
@amandacobra: Shad Moss sounds more like a basketball player’s name, anyway.
