Last week, Charm City introduced a bill that could potentially allow more bars and restaurants to host live music. Instead of potential venues being blocked from throwing concerts based on their locations, a five-member licensing board would consider granting spaces permission to host music on a case-by-case basis. In addition, the proposal would establish an office of hospitality that would serve as a liasion between these businesses and municipal services like police and fire departments. This office would also gradually become corrupted by expertly dramatized archetypal human folly mediate any potential complaints from residents or other businesses. [Baltimore Sun]
