It all sounds like the same song except for Wonderwall, which is their only claim to greatness. I was right on board until about the 1:30 mark...which coincided with the time period I left Oasis behind for greener pastures. Not to get all NME circa 1995 about it (o.k it's the NME, so I should say circa 2008 since they'll never let the glory days of britpop go, even if the NME's current age demographic was 2 at the time) BUT: If you did the same montage with Blur songs over the years it would be obvious that they took risks and changed their sound...grew out of britpop even. Now, there's something to be said about plodding along with the same sound, and kudos to Oasis for staying together this long (O.K so the lineup has changed about a million times...but well done anyway!)
I applaud their consistency, even if it is steeped in mediocrity. People say that Blur won the battle, but Oasis won the war of britpop. Maybe winning that war is what sealed their fate as a one trick pony, the creative heights that Damon Albarn has reached since then only highlight Oasis' lack of progression. Maybe "losing" the britpop war all those years ago was the best thing that could have happened to Albarn, since it's freed him up to become a creative genius...as opposed to well, doing the same album over and over.
O.K...I'll get out of my time warp, I grew up in England, and the whole britpop war thing was happening when I was 14, so it's what's shaped my whole musical identity. You HAD to choose!

Is it just me or does Liam's voice sound processed within an inch of its life? He hasn't sounded very good live in recent years, and I'm starting to think his voice is gone...
