It took me a while to realize the woman lipsyncing the words in Lykke Li’s new video for “Breaking It Up” was, in fact, the coolly spunky Swedish singer, and not a wayward Olsen twin. The song is fantastic, the clip attached to it filled with melancholia both pre- and post-coital. Bonus fact: the video’s director, Sarah Chatfield, also was behind the camera for the color-coordinated video for Annie’s “I Know Your Girlfriend Hates Me” and Lily Allen’s puppet play “Alfie.” [Shots Ring Out]

she’s just fantastic. the album isn’t end-to-end hits or anything, but the MAGNITUDE of the good songs on that album is stunning. her odds of scoring an overplayed crossover hit in the next few years are like 1:1.
Eh…I’ve heard better.
@owenmeany: Ditto. Can’t really figure out what the love for this girl is all about. Is it simply because she’s foreign? If Ashley Simpson was covering Tribe’s “Can I Kick It?” live, would we also think that was great?
