Also, can I just go on record as saying the intro to "Enjoy The Silence" is probably one of the best video intros OF ALL TIMEZ? Something about that little flash just gets me.

What this might do is — maybe — prompt the long overdue physical release of the final round of single box sets, which have only been available via the massive iTunes package. There’s plenty of reasons why they won’t do this these days, but it could yet happen. As it stands the final album via Warners was a (completely unneeded) greatest hits anyway, but hey, if it broke the contract…

@NeverEnough: The realization that I could not pick Spencer Pratt out of a line up makes me unbelievably happy. The fact that I know who he is, less so.

@Ned Raggett: Yep. For acts as established and settled as DM, I can't see how the label makes much difference. They've probably been with the label longer than any of the execs, so its not like anyone there would have much of an emotional/personal investment in the band, leading to the "service" they're apparently looking for.

Not too surprising in the end. Depeche are practically a self-contained machine at this point, and regardless of who releases their next album it'll probably be on the same level of Playing the Angel's success -- built-in fanbase sales, idly curiosity beyond that, and some massive tours that generate all the income they'd ever need and then some.
