Clear Channel's buyout by the private equity firms Thomas H. Lee Partners and Bain Capital means that the company needs to get on the task of unloading a number of its stations, thanks to some FCC rules about ownership and the like. If you live in one of 37 markets, one or more of your radio stations might improve in the near future. (OK, probably not, but it's nice to dream.) The list of stations that can be yours below the cut.

I'm thinking of scraping some cash together and picking up Augusta's WIBL—"The Bull"—which features classic country hits and some of your favorites from today. Also, it's hard to not see the appeal of New Orleans' Acitve Rock powerhouse KYRK, which is giving away first four row tickets to Kid Rock all this week. Email me if you have some extra money lying around and are interested in a drive time spot on my new station.

Um, whoa. Does anyone want to raise money to buy one of the WALKs?? THE TIME TO RECLAIM LONG ISLAND STARTS NOW, YOU GUYS.
@Maura Johnston: I'm in for $5. Will you be hiring?
No New York stations for sale? Was figuring I could by RXP and eliminate all the tired classic rock and Staind tracks to give us an actual Modern Rock station for the tri-state area. Wishful thinking, I know...
@Maura Johnston: Considering the top 5 songs for the week at WALK-FM are by Leona Lewis, Natasha Bedingfield, Sara Bareilles, John Mayer and David Cook, a takeover might be a good look.
@2ironic4u: RXP is owned by Ennis, which owns Hot 97. But I think you can get WALK out in the Western area of LI...
I mean, I have always wanted a radio station of my own. Forever.
2 in Lancaster, CA? If I still lived there and/or cared about it, I'd buy one just to get some decent music in.
@Maura Johnston: Only if we can be a "Home of the Rock" or "The only station that REALLY rocks" or somehow kill a listener. Then I'm in.
Wow, WJRR ... my 14 year old self listened to the hell out of The Ron and Ron show on that station in the early 90s.
I've always wanted to move to Macon. This is my chance! I just hope the station is cheaper than the crap from Lou Pearlman's pre-prison sale.
I'd love to own a radio station. Then I could be just like Jimmy James.
I @Maura Johnston: I bet Cubby Bryant is looking for work.
@GhostOfDuane:
Do NOT under any circumstances move to Macon. My dad lives there. Highlights include: the mall, the usually closed Georgia Music Hall of Fame and that intersection where two Allman Brothers died. Also just a twenty minute drive away is Barnesville, home of Buggy Daze. Where they drive old buggies through the streets and everyone waves at them.
Trust me, just go for Laurel-Hattiesburg.
Hmm. Considering that all the hipsters are aspiring to be DJs instead of Rock Stars these days, and thinking about the current state of the music industry, it seems you might have stumbled on a great idea there, Dan. Buy a radio station with a decent signal strength and offer up DJ slots for a price. It's like Next Gen Pay for Play!!
@El-Zilcho: Yeah, but I don't see any NYC stations on here, so good luck recreating WNYX. But you could buy Portsmouth-Dover-Rochester, NH - WGIP-AM and be the Jimmy James of the last episode (and non-existant 6th season).
/given my name, I can't let a NewsRadio reference pass without some sort of comment
I call shotgun on Frankie Blue as program director.
@Silverfuture: Except it's the worst fucking idea ever, because they'll just play the bands of their lame-ass friends, and "bangers".
@MTS: Well, it would probably still be a better playlist that anything Clear Channel would come up with. Also, I wasn't suggesting actually listening to the station, just profiting off of it.
