We can attest to the truth and rightness of Time Out New York arts editor Elisabeth Vincentelli about Alphabeat’s new “Boyfriend (Pete Hammond Remix),” which she has an MP3 link for–it really is like a late-’80s time machine, and I say that as someone who actually sat through all of the three-CD Stock Aitken Waterman: Gold (third disc features the 7-minute megamixes!). Hammond was one of SAW’s main men, and he takes Alphabeat’s song back in time so effectively you’ll start looking for jelly shoes to dance to it in. [The Determined Dilettante]

@Dick Laurent is dead.: i agree, but the remix is pretty enjoyable.
I’ve been looking for this remix. For some reason the British bloggers who got the one-track promo for this song have been refusing to share it.
@Dick Laurent is dead.:
I’ll be less forgiving of their hyper-cuteness if that rumored Kelly Rowland collaboration ever happens. They posted a myspace bulletin about it, which seems to indicate that they don’t object to working with Beyonce’s shadow.
@ITMS: Oh please, do you know how much money Matthew Knowles is willing to spend on getting that bitch a hit? That collaboration will pay for a good two, three years of cutesy videos.
Besides, Kelendria wants to work with Kate Nash too; it’s her push, not theirs.
“Stock Aitken Waterman: Gold” is nothing short of amazing.
Alphabeat are dreadful, and no, I don’t hate fun.
There is something really “1987 Hot 103 FM freestyle” about this remix…I LOVE IT!
