Is And Justice For All James Hetfield’s favorite Metallica album? The answer may surprise you: “”Not so much. … I was just listening to [1997's] ReLoad, and there are a couple of songs on there that I think are absolutely brilliant. But as an album itself, and as a time, [Justice] just isn’t a good memory for me. But those songs are good. I have to try and erase the memory of that experience somehow and let the songs take me.” Lest you have a heart attack from the notion that ReLoad is somehow Hetfield’s favorite album by his band, that just isn’t the case–in fact, Hetfield’s most favoritest Metallica album is Death Magnetic, you know, the one that isn’t even out yet. Whew! (Whew?) [MTV]

I believe Reload would be Attack Of The Clones in the George Lucas analogy this item is begging for.
Death Magnetic as The Clone Wars? Hmm, synergy.
The songs on ‘Justice’ are good, but it sounds like it was recorded inside a cardboard box.
The very end of the last song on …Justice always sort of drives me crazy. It’s like someone always hits ‘STOP’ on the record a split second before that last note is actually done. Let the damn thing decay! I’ve always sort of wondered if the original performance of the song was supposed to be longer, but they decided to cut it off there. Either way, it’s a terribly awkward way to end an amazing-yet-poorly-engineered album.
They should have all died in the bus with Cliff after “Master of Puppets”.
